Our Story

Nicole Goodman and George Butt

Nicole and George arrived in Skagway via cruise ship in 2015.  They were drawn to Skagway because of its history, beauty, and community.  In 2017, they arrived in Skagway for their first summer season.  Upon arrival, they immediately felt like they were home!  George worked as a tour guide. Nicole was a retail manager of one of the high-end shops in town. This lifestyle afforded them the time to travel during the off season.

After three seasons, they decided to make Skagway their permanent home and to start Klondike Electric Bicycles. They were scheduled to open for the 2020 cruise season and then Covid happened. They did not let that deter them…they opened anyway. With the prospect of a whole season lost, they started a gift shop in their location. Klondike Gift Supply might have been born out of the pandemic. However, owning a gift shop had been on their radar for quite some time.

As if the journey had not already been a bumpy one for us, our world was rocked in a big way when George was diagnosed with cancer in November 2022. In a shock to our world, George passed away very unexpectedly in February 2023. As a family, we knew that we needed to continue on…even if it was difficult and overwhelming.

Our team continues to strive to provide you with the ultimate experience while visiting Skagway. It is our mission to help make Skagway your favorite destination during your travels to Alaska. We will continue to honor George every day as we carry on in this exceptional life.
